Are pets allowed?

No, sorry. Guide dogs excepted.

Can I bring my kids?

Not yet, we are aware that many artists would love to be able to bring their families with them but we cannot accommodate children comfortably and safely at this time. We are planning to be able to do so in the future.

Can I have guests to stay?

Artists may wish to bring a partner, friend or family member with them for some or all of their stay. You are welcome to do this but you need to notify us when you apply – please include this information in your application or send us an email. This option is only available space permitting and you will need to please book our double room (see Fees).

Please be aware that the bedroom sizes are on the small side and all the beds are single size. We recommend separate rooms for artists even if you are coming to work together as a team. If you wish to share a room please book our double room.

Is EAR accessible to everyone?

Unfortunately the building that EAR is currently in may not be accessible to all. Some wheelchair users may find the bathrooms a bit tight and there is a step up into the house on our most accessible door way. Please get in touch for more details to determine if EAR is suitable for you. We are more than happy to provide detailed plans, measurements and photographs of any areas that may be of concern when deciding to visit EAR.

Where can I get art supplies?

Some very basic art supplies & stationery can be found in the supermarket and post office, while a larger selection can be found in nearby Naracoorte. Many art stores will deliver to Edenhope via online ordering. We suggest Zart Art, Cavalier Art Supplies, or Art Shed but there are many more.

You can arrange to have art supplies delivered to arrive when you do or post your own items ahead of time. Deliveries are dropped off at the local post office and from most places only take a few days. You must have them addressed to yourself c/o Edenhope Artist Residency. If you order from Amazon, please ensure you use Amazon.com.au to ensure swift delivery. Orders from overseas Amazon sites can take a few weeks depending on where it is coming from which may impact your projects.

Do I need a visa?

That entirely depends on where you are coming from. Visit https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/ to check your requirements. We are unable to provide any further assistance in relation to visas. We cannot sponsor you. We can provide a letter of acceptance only.

Do you have wifi?

Yes the house and the studio both have unlimited internet access available over wifi.

What does the residency fee cover?

The residency fee covers your accommodation in a private home that you will share with any other artists who are in residence at the time and the use of the studio space during your stay.

Are there extra fees for using the Inkjet Printers & 3D printers?

3D printers: You will have to supply your own filament if working on larger projects (but you probably want to anyway). A one off $30 fee will apply for artists wishing to print only one or a few small things. Training will be provided on how to use the 3D printer if you have no prior experience.

Inkjet fine art printers: You will need to supply your own paper for the inkjet printers and a one off $150 ink fee will apply for artists wishing to print a large quantity of prints during their stay. Individual prints can be printed at $15 (for A2 size) otherwise. Tech Specs and suitable materials for our printer can be found here.

What is the weather like in Edenhope?

The weather can get very hot in summer and quite chilly in winter. In all weather, boots are a must for walking tracks or paddocks.
