An educator-turned storyteller, solo performer, and community builder, Dr. Ada Cheng has utilized storytelling to illustrate structural inequities, raise critical awareness, and build intimate communities across differences. She has created multiple platforms for people to tell difficult and vulnerable stories. Through her community work of various forms, she makes storytelling accessible to the general public, beyond the world of storytelling and performance. She was one of the Illinois Humanities Public Humanities Award honorees in 2024. Her interests encompass academia, storytelling/performance, and advocacy. In addition to her writing, she will be spending time rehearsing for her new solo performance The Trouble with My Hair during her residency at Edenhope.
