During her time at the Edenhope Artist Residency, Melissa Delaney embraced the opportunity to slow down and immerse herself in the rhythms of place. Through daily practices of walking, meditation, writing, drawing, and photography, she explored the surrounding landscape and community, treating the residency as an evolving narrative shaped by encounters, observations, and moments of reflection. Influenced by ideas of psychogeography and the slow movement, her process focused on paying close attention to how place, people, and personal well-being intersect.
For Melissa Delaney, the residency became both a retreat and a living studio. By documenting everyday experiences and gathering stories along the way, she developed a reflective body of material that sits between social sculpture, storytelling, and wellness practice. Her time in Edenhope highlighted art as process — a way of connecting with environment and community while creating space for curiosity, conversation, and thoughtful exchange.
