During her residency at Edenhope Artist Residency, Carol Close explored the unique plants and landscape of the region, drawing inspiration from their distinctive forms, resilience and ability to adapt to place.
Bringing together poetry, drawing and printmaking, Carol worked towards creating an artist book that captured a singular sense of place. The isolation and expansive landscape of Edenhope provided a rich environment for her practice, allowing her to closely observe the local environment and consider the ways plants, people and landscapes respond and adapt to their surroundings.
Carol’s residency was an opportunity to immerse herself in the landscape and develop a body of work rooted in the particular character of the Wimmera.
