Louise Hopewell is a Melbourne-based poet, playwright and wordsmith. During her two weeks at Edenhope Artist Residency, Louise wrote four short plays, including a monologue about a magpie, the final in a series of six plays celebrating Australia’s unique birdlife. Louise enjoyed wandering around Lake Wallace and watching the spectacular sunsets and was inspired to write over a hundred haiku during her stay. Louise was honoured to have the chance to introduce locals to the haiku form, delivering workshops at Edenhope Library and Edenhope College.
